Surveillance Technology Behind Beautiful and Energy Efficient Street Lighting Published 15. February 2012
Danish lighting companies and a multidisciplinary research group at Aalborg University have used the winter darkness to experiment with new technology that can make the lighting of streets and squares more intelligent, interesting and energy efficient.

Aalborg University has now had the ok to take over Nokia’s former headquarter in the harbour area in the Southern part of Copenhagen Published 20. January 2012
Today the finance committee in the Danish parliament has approved that Aalborg University can move into the building of Nokia’s former headquarter in Denmark, at Frederikskaj in the Southwestern part of Copenhagen, which is owned by PFA. The aim is to establish the future’s innovative university where education, research and businesses interact closely. The first 70 students will start their studies as from 1st of February.

We’ve probably all been there. The annoyance and worry when you’ve lost your wallet or had your bike stolen. But now researchers at Aalborg University have started working on making tiny radio transmitters that will allow you to figure out where your bike, wallet or anything else is.

No more free bus rides on the AAU Aalborg Campus Published 2. January 2012

NT reports, that the special AAU-campus bus ticket is no longer valid because of error in using the ticket to travel all over the town. You can use the ticket for the last time the 31. of January 2012.

Millions in Support to Accelerate the Development of Super Potatoes Published 22. December 2011
With 12 million kroner in funding from the Danish Council for Strategic Research, researchers at Aalborg University are now developing DNA-based technology for more efficient processing of potato varieties. The new super crops can ward off famine and contribute to a more sustainable energy supply, but the project manager anticipates a race against time.

EU Success: New Materials Make Cars 100 kg Lighter Published 27. October 2011
New strong nanomaterials from a large EU-supported research project can lessen the weight of passenger cars by up to 100 kg and reduce fuel consumption by five percent. The results from the "Nanotough" project led by Aalborg University are now being highlighted as a success story in the European Commission's Research and Innovation area.
